Bollywood action hero and twice National Award winner, Ajay Devgan along with the leading production house Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd have snapped up the Hindi remake rights of Pritviraj’s Deepan directed 2009’s super hit Puthiya Mugham at a record price from producer Anil Mathew.

The film is going to be directed Rohit Shetty, son of legendary fight master Shetty and director of the super hit Golmaal and Golmaal-2. Rohit is now starting Golmaal 3 from March with Ajay Devgan and Kareena in the lead.
It seems Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty sawPuthiya Mugham at a special screening in Chennai and loved it. They loved Pritvi’s role and the way it was stylized like a Hindi action film and the overall packaging of the film.
Ajay feels it is a safe commercial subject and will start the shoot towards the end of the year. 

Prabhu in Mammootty's Pramani

Tamil actor Prabhu was in Kochi last week to do a cameo in B Unnikrishnan's Pramani, which stars Mammootty. The film has Sneha as the heroine and Fazil's son Fahad playing an important role.
'Yes, I'm doing a cameo role in Pramani because it gave me an opportunity to do a film with Mammootty,' said Prabhu. 'I think Mammooka is one of the finest actors in the country and it's an honour to do a film with him. He is also a great fan of Appa [the legendary Sivaji Ganeshan].'
Prabhu said he had great time shooting in the backwaters of Kerala. On one of the days, Mammootty took him home and he had one of the 'finest Kerala sappad [feast]' he's ever had.
Pramani is scheduled to release on March 19.

Pokkiri raja will be directed by Vaishakh and the movie is said to be a dual hero starrer with three heroines playing the lead. The perfect pair for Mammotty is yet to be finalized and sources add that Namitha or Kavya may take up the position opposite to Mammotty.

Many top Kollywood and Tollywood heroines are making a beeline for Malayalam films. The newest entrant is Shriya Saran, who has started shooting in Kochi opposite Malayalam superstar Mammootty and Pritviraj - who play brothers in the film written and directed by debutant Vysakh.

Titled Pokkiri Raja, the film is a an action entertainer and Shriya says she plays a modern girl and her character has a lot of scope to perform.
